Bonnybank Bed and Breakfast
A naturalist, a musician and a golden retriever named Willow would like to invite you to our 100-year-old home that’s off the beaten path, in the heart of Niagara’s wine country. Just south of the pirate ship on the QEW at Jordan Harbour, our location is perfect for a mini-getaway for a night or two. Welcoming fellow Niagarans for almost two decades, our acre is well situated for exploring the surrounding Twenty Valley, wineries and fine restaurants. We are close enough to everything to use a taxi, so no drinking and driving! Just minutes away from where you live, plan an escape that allows you to discover a unique part of Niagara.
You’ll find us down a country lane that runs along a peach orchard, on the banks of the Twenty Mile Creek ANSI, in the middle of an owl sanctuary. Bring your canoe or kayak to our new dock with a view of the 1867 Great Western Railway columns (our house is made of pink Grimsby sandstone salvaged from this trestle in 1936!) Borrow our bikes or rent a canoe at the Niagara Rowing School down the road. Wander among our Victorian hedgerows, Carolinian trees and organic gardens. Birdwatch from the breakfast table, sighting songbirds and our resident chipmunk. Pick your own berries, herbs and tomatoes from our vegetable gardens, which I can serve for breakfast, along with seasonal organic food bought from our farm neighbours. Relax in the sunroom with our library of local books and musical instruments.
We welcome all artist types: poets, musicians, writers… Enjoy the art that is for sale, hung throughout the house by the Jordan Art Gallery located in Jordan Village, two minutes through the valley. We are between Lake Ontario beaches for swimming and the Bruce Trail, Niagara Escarpment for hiking. Come evening relax by the campfire, watch the stars, and wave at the man-in-the-moon, serenaded by owl, frog and occasional coyote song.
So bring your sweetie, family or a gaggle of friends for a workshop of your choice and gardening help is always appreciated! Dogs are welcome. Combine a stay with any type of tour through Carla’s ecotour company, Niagara Nature Tours to complete your holiday.
