*New* Niagara Bruce Trail Club Hiking Series
The Niagara Benchlands Badge is here!
The Niagara Bruce Trail Club (NBTC) launched their newest trail badge created in collaboration with the Lincoln Museum and Cultural Centre.
Trail badges are awarded when hikers complete a NBTC designated hike to commemorate and reflect on their accomplishment. The Niagara Benchlands Badge introduces hikers to notable cultural and historical sites throughout the Town of Lincoln and is awarded to hikers that complete a series of three hikes. The badge design combines the silhouette of the Lincoln Museum and Cultural Centre’s 1859 Schoolhouse and the new Niagara Benchlands branding identity.
The hiking series includes:
Jordan Village Walking Tour
This self guided tour leads participants on a gentle stroll throughout the centuries on Main Street in Jordan. The tour was developed by the museum team in Winter 2021.
Ball’s Falls Hike
The NPCA’s hike at Ball’s Falls provides a look into the past with a 19th century grist mill, chapel, black smith shop, and family home restored to their original condition.
Wineries of Beamsville Bench Walk
Developed by the NBTC Badge Committee, this leisurely hike leads participants past several notable Lincoln wineries including: Fielding Estates Winery, Locust Lane Estate Winery, Hidden Bench Estate Winery, Thirty Bench Wine Makers, Rosewood Estates Winery, and Angels Gate Winery.
To earn a Niagara Benchlands Badge badge, participants will be required to take picture evidence of their hike as prompted by the Hike Notes document which can be found at http://niagarabrucetrail.club/.
The Niagara Bruce Trail Club will be leading several guided hikes of the Niagara Benchlands Badge. See the website below for details.
